Where's Lois Lane When We Need Her?

I've been saying this for some time now, but Molly Ivins' column about suicidal newspaper execs pulls it all together very nicely. (thanks for the link JB)

It floors me to hear people talk about how newspapers are such big money losers. They are equally floored to find out that the problem isn't in making a profit - the problem is they don't make enough profit. Our society has somehow relegated newspapers to the same industry standard as cars, Big Macs or Chia pets. Newspapers are the most unique product in the world -- and right now the most vulnerable.
